Who would have thought it?! An electric Porsche. It’s a cliché, we know, but all of the performance car makers are jumping on the electric bandwagon. Let’s face it, when Ferrari and McLaren have given us high performance with zero emissions, it’s set the blueprint for squeezing power whilst being green.
Porsche’s Taycan – it’s all electric vehicle – promises to deliver massive acceleration of 3.5 seconds to 60 mph as well as going 300 odd miles on a single charge. Okay, we haven’t had it tested yet, but you have to admit, Porsche are a technically advanced manufacturer and the cars they’ve produced are truly iconic. You can’t say that about Tesla – not yet anyway (and we know which we’d prefer to drive).
There’s talk about different options to allow different battery packs and range, so we’ll see what they look like at launch (and how much they cost).
Whatever happens, we’ll be getting one for our fleet when it’s launched next Spring and we’re sure that will generate a lot of interest.
